Can I apply for my licence before I am 17?
A. Yes, you can. However, you are not allowed to drive on a
public highway before your 17th birthday.
Q. Where do I get the
forms from to apply for my provisional licence, the theory test and my practical test?
A. All necessary forms are available from me. You can also
obtain a form for your provisional licence from a post office.
Q. Which of the two
tests do I take first?
A. You must take and pass the theory test before
you can apply for a practical test. However, it is Ok to start having lessons before you
take the theory test.
Q. Which car will I
use for my driving test?
A. You
will use the same car that you have used for your lessons. A different car is not provided for the driving test.
Q. Where are the nearest
test centres?
A. The nearest theory test centres are
Dudley and Worcester. The nearest practical test centres are Lower Gornal and
Kidderminster.
Q. What does it cost to
take the tests?
A. The theory test is £30.00 and the
practical test is £56.50.
Q. Can I read any books to
help with learning?
A. Yes! There are four books that I
recommend. Obviously, The Highway Code is very important. The others are published by the
DSA, the people who actually conduct the tests. They are. "Your Driving Test",
"The Driving Manual" and "The Official Theory Test for Cars and
Motorcyclists". I keep a stock of all of these and they are available on request. |
